Three ways to spend a day with us, each of them private, each shaped around the people who arrive. We welcome one group a day, walk with you in your language, and charge by the group rather than by the head, so a couple and a family of five pay the same fee. Everything you need to decide is on this page: what each day holds, what it costs, what is included, and how a booking comes together.
Which Day is Right for You?
The tour varies by your experience in Kanazawa. Find your best stay!
- First time in Kanazawa, one day: the Highlights Walk, full day.
- You travel for food: the Food Walk, ideally with a half-day Highlights Walk the next morning.
- Two or more days: the Highlights Walk on day one, Chirihama & the Noto coast on day two.
- Arriving by cruise ship: write to us with your ship’s hours and we will build a timed day with a safe margin.
- Not sure: tell us your dates and what you are curious about, on Instagram or through the form, and we will suggest a day within a day.

How it works
How it works
1. Book a tour online. Tell us your dates, the size of your group, your language and anything you are curious about. Walking comfort and dietary needs help too.
2. Receive a plan within a day. We reply with a suggested day, its timing and a price for your group. Change whatever you like; nothing is fixed until you say so.
3. Confirm. When the plan feels right, you confirm with a simple online payment, and we send your confirmation, the meeting point and a few thoughts for the day ahead.
4. Meet us in Kanazawa. At the station or your hotel, at the hour we agreed. From there, the day is yours.
What it costs
Our fee is per group, not per person, and it is the only fee we charge. Entry tickets, meals, tastings and transport are paid as we go, at local prices, so you only pay for what we actually do. [We take no commission from any shop, studio or restaurant we visit.

Payment
You confirm by paying [a 20% deposit / the full amount] by card through a secure link; the balance, if any, is settled [on the day, in cash or by card / online before the tour]. Prices are in Japanese yen, and your card is charged in yen.
Changes, Cancellations and Weather
Plans shift, and we are used to it. Ask us to move a date and we will if the calendar allows. Cancel free of charge up to [7] days before the tour; within [7] days we keep [50%], and within [48 hours] or for no-shows the full amount. If we have to cancel, because of severe weather, transport disruption or the beach closing at Chirihama, you choose a new date or a full refund. Full terms are on the [Booking Terms] page.
Where we meet
Most days begin at [the Tsuzumi Gate of Kanazawa Station] or at your hotel in central Kanazawa. From hotels outside the center, we meet at the station. Cruise guests, we meet you at [the Kanazawa Port cruise terminal] and plan around your all-aboard time.
Availability
One group a day keeps our calendar small. Write early for [the cherry blossoms of early April, the autumn colors of November and crab season from November to March], and we will always answer within a day. If your date is taken, we will suggest the closest one that is free.
FAQs
Is the price per person or per group?
Per group. Our fee is the same for one guest or [six]. Entry fees, meals, tastings and transport are per person and paid as we go.
Why only one group a day?
Because a day shaped around you cannot be run to a schedule. With a single group, the pace, the pauses and the conversation are yours, and nothing is recited.
How do I book, and when do I pay?
Write to us on Instagram or through the form; we reply within a day with a plan and a price. You confirm by paying [a 20% deposit / the full amount] online by card. Popular dates go early.
What is your cancellation policy?
Free up to [7] days before the tour, [50%] within [7] days, and the full amount within [48 hours] or for no-shows. If we have to cancel, you choose a new date or a full refund.
What if it rains?
We walk rain or shine. Kanazawa is one of the rainiest cities in Japan, so we plan for it with covered markets, tea houses and museums, and we carry a spare umbrella.
How much walking is involved?
About [3–4 km] on a half-day walk and [5–7 km] on a full day, mostly on flat streets with plenty of places to sit. Tell us about any mobility needs and we will plan around them, taxis included.
Are children welcome?
Very. The market, the gold leaf workshop and the castle grounds are favorites. Tell us their ages and we will pace the day for them; strollers manage most of the route.
Do you offer hotel pickup?
Yes, from hotels in central Kanazawa at no extra charge. For hotels outside the center, we meet at Kanazawa Station.
Which languages do you guide in?
Our team includes people who bridge languages between travelers and locals; for other languages, a discreet real-time translation device keeps the conversation flowing both ways. English, [Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Korean] and more. Ask us about yours.
Can you book restaurants and studios for us?
For the days you spend with us, yes: lunch, tea houses and craft studios are reserved as part of the plan. [For the other evenings of your stay, ask; we can often help.]
Do you go to Shirakawa-go?
Our days stay inside Ishikawa, the region we live in and know well. Shirakawa-go is in neighboring Gifu, about 75 minutes from Kanazawa by highway bus, and we are happy to point you to the timetable so it fits around your days with us.
